Woffu alternative

The Woffu alternative when your people are on site, not in the office

Woffu is one of the most focused time and attendance products on the Spanish market, and in an office it works very well. The difference is the unit of work: Woffu organises time around the employee and their working day; HoraTrack organises it around the site, with its perimeter, its crew and its hours.

Per-site geofencing, an app that works with no coverage and site reports ready for an inspection.

The honest summary

Of all the comparisons in this section, this is the closest one: Woffu takes time tracking seriously too. If your team works in fixed locations, with shifts and hour balances to reconcile, Woffu is a solid option and probably more complete than we are at planning. The moment your workers rotate between sites and you need to verify physical presence at each one, a vertical site product gives you what a workforce product cannot without workarounds.

Why people end up here

Why construction companies look for a Woffu alternative

01

Office shifts versus site rotation

Shift planning fits stable hours and fixed locations. In construction the crew moves as the work progresses, and what you need is not a rota but the ability to reassign people to sites in seconds.

02

Physical presence is not verified

Recording a start time does not prove the person was on the site. Without a perimeter configured per site, there is no automatic way to tell an entry made at the workface from one made in the van.

03

The reports you get asked for are missing

You need hours per site for certifications, budgets and cost allocation, and a PDF per worker for an inspection. Reports built around balances and absences do not answer that directly.

04

A site with no coverage breaks the flow

Basements, warehouses, rural sites: if clocking in depends on having a connection at that moment, you end up with daily incidents and a paper backup. Again.

Comparison

Woffu and HoraTrack, point by point

What you need on site Woffu HoraTrack
Product focus Time and attendance, absences and planning for the workforce Vertical time-record product for companies that work on site
Unit of organisation Employee, working day, shift and workplace Site: address, geofencing radius, status, assigned crew and booked hours
Location validation Clock-in from app, web and on-site terminals Per-site geofencing: every entry is checked against the radius and flagged if it falls outside
Hours per site Reports per employee, balances and absences Reports per site, worker or period, with hours already booked to each site
Use in the field A working-time and requests interface One screen and one button: the worker sees their site and clocks in
No signal Built for environments with a stable connection The app records time and GPS with no coverage and syncs when it returns
Shift planning Rotas and planning: one of their strengths We do not do rotas. We assign workers to sites, which is a different thing
Working-time records Meets working-time recording duties for general headcount Meets them with a timestamp, a location and a GPS status on every entry
Getting started Configuring calendars, agreements and absence policies Create the site, set the radius on the map, invite the crew. Live the same day

This comparison is based on Woffu's public documentation and on our own experience rolling out time records on construction sites. Woffu and every other brand mentioned belong to their respective owners; this page is not affiliated with them. Functional scope changes over time and depends on the plan you buy, so always check their website too. If you spot anything out of date, email us at info@soamee.com and we will correct it.

When to switch and when not to

Stay with Woffu if…

  • You need real shift planning and rotas, not just time records.
  • You manage hour balances, flexitime and absence policies with collective-agreement rules.
  • Your team works in fixed locations where verifying position adds little.
  • Your payroll is already integrated with their platform and it runs without friction.

Switch to HoraTrack if…

  • Your people move between sites and you need to know in real time who is on which one.
  • You need to evidence physical presence on the site, not just that somebody pressed a button.
  • You want hours booked per site for certification or budgeting without reconciling spreadsheets.
  • You work where coverage is poor and cannot depend on a connection to clock in.
  • You want the crew using it with no training: open it, see the site, clock in.

What moving from Woffu looks like

01

We export entries and staff

You download the history from Woffu as a spreadsheet. It is kept as the record for the previous period, for as long as the rules require.

02

We turn workplaces into sites

Each workplace becomes a site with a real address and a geofencing radius drawn on the map, not a label.

03

We assign the crews

Every worker lands on their current site. When the crew moves, you reassign from the dashboard without redoing configuration.

04

We close the loop with payroll

We agree the export your payroll provider expects and set a cut-off date, so no period is left half-recorded across two tools.

Try it on a real site, not in a generic demo

FAQs about moving from Woffu

Does HoraTrack do shifts and rotas like Woffu?
No, and we would rather say it plainly. HoraTrack assigns workers to sites and records their working day, but it does not do shift planning or rotating rotas. If that is central to how you operate, Woffu covers it better.
What does geofencing add over a clock-in with location?
The system makes the call. Each site has a configured radius and every entry is checked against it: if it falls outside, it is flagged with an alert and an administrator reviews it. Without a perimeter, location is just data somebody would have to verify by hand, entry by entry.
Does it work if the site has no coverage?
Yes. The app stores the entry with its time and GPS position even with no network, and syncs with the dashboard as soon as the connection is back. The worker does nothing differently.
Can I track several sites at once?
Yes. Each site has its own perimeter, its own assigned crew and its own status: active, paused or finished. The dashboard shows all of them at once with live entries and the day’s exceptions.
What about holidays and absences?
HoraTrack does not manage them. If you need holidays, leave and balances with collective-agreement rules, it makes sense to keep your current tool for that and use HoraTrack for site time records.
