The challenge
AGEDI-AIE, the joint royalty collection office for music artists and producers, needed to fully modernise its licence management system. With over 30 years of history and a base of more than 150,000 licensed businesses across Spain, the existing system neither scaled nor delivered the digital experience the market demanded.
Our solution
We developed Somos Musica, a comprehensive platform that unifies producer rights (AGEDI) and artist rights (AIE) under a single licence:
Main platform
- Licensing system with three categories: businesses with music (bars, restaurants, gyms, hotels), TV and radio, and other uses (franchises, distributors)
- Self-service portal where businesses can purchase, renew and manage their licences digitally
- Full internationalisation with i18n support for multiple languages

Results
The platform manages licences for over 150,000 businesses across all 50 Spanish provinces, more than 3,000 television and radio stations, covering over 20 industry sectors. Somos Musica has transformed a bureaucratic process into a seamless digital experience, facilitating legal compliance and fair remuneration for artists and producers.
