Power BI, Looker or custom dashboard: which is best?

Power BI is ideal for companies already using the Microsoft ecosystem that need quick dashboards with low license costs. Looker (now part of Google Cloud) excels in data-driven organizations that need a centralized semantic model. A custom dashboard (React + D3.js) is the best option when you need full design control, need to embed dashboards in your own platform, or when interaction requirements exceed what standard tools offer. In many projects we combine both approaches.

How much does a Business Intelligence project cost?

A basic BI project with 3-5 dashboards, connection to 2-3 data sources, and automated ETL can cost between EUR 15,000 and 35,000. A complete project with data warehouse, multiple sources, advanced dashboards with drill-down, alerts, and automated reporting ranges from EUR 50,000 to 120,000. Enterprise projects with predictive analytics, data governance, and multiple departments can exceed EUR 150,000. Recurring infrastructure and license costs depend on data volume and chosen tools.

How often is the data updated?

It depends on the business need. We support everything from batch processing (daily or every few hours) to real-time streaming with Apache Kafka. Data is stored in the region the client chooses (EU, US). For clients with strict requirements, we can deploy the solution on-premise or in their private cloud.
